Bouchra Jarrar
Born in Cannes to Moroccan immigrant parents, French designer Bouchra Jarrar studied at L’École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués in Paris. After a ten-year tenure as studio director at Balenciaga under Nicolas Ghesquière, she went on to work for Christian Lacroix before launching her eponymous collection in 2010.
Shown at Paris Couture Week, Jarrar's menswear-influenced "contemporary couture" collection has quickly become known for its tightly-edited minimalist vision. In 2010, Jarrar was nominated for France's prestigious ANDAM award..
