Peter Pilotto

Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos are the designers behind the luxury womenswear label Peter Pilotto. The pair met while studying at Antwerp’s prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the year 2000. Pilotto and De Vos joined forces for the Spring Summer 2008 collection, deciding to carry forward the label Pilotto had previously presented as small capsule collections from Antwerp.

Peter Pilotto’s vision of womenswear embraces both new and classic perspectives on elegance. Otherworldly prints combine with soft sculptural shapes to form the handwriting of the design duo. Pilotto is focused on designing and developing completely original signature textiles and prints, while De Vos concentrates more on silhouette and drape. However, the duo work beyond their individual specialties to create something new, their process being very organic and beyond an integration of the two fields.

In December 2009 Peter Pilotto was awarded the best emerging talent award at the British Fashion Awards. Autumn Winter 2011 marked the eighth London catwalk show for the design duo, for which they were awarded Fashion Forward sponsorship, supported by the British Fashion Council and Topshop.
