Prabal Gurung

Prabal Gurung was born in Singapore and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal. His career began in Delhi, India, where he studied design and worked as a stylist and designer. In 1999, Gurung moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design, and later worked for Donna Karan and Cynthia Rowley before being named design director of Bill Blass. In February 2009 he launched his own collection, Prabal Gurung.

Since the launch of his collection, Gurung has been a recipient of the Ecco Domani Fashion Fund Award, selected for the 2010-2012 CFDA Fashion Incubator, and nominated for the 2010 CFDA Swarovski Womenswear Award. Young and fresh, his collection features modern silhouettes with feminine details and expert tailoring.
