happy lfw

We’re so excited to see what’s coming from LFW this year! KZ has become a home to many British designers, whose innovative textiles and fashion forward prints we eagerly anticipate each season. So if you can’t make it to foggy London Town, come visit new KZ favorite Mary Katrantzou, the print masters of Peter Pilotto, and Christopher Kane, whose brain motif is pictured here, at 477 Broome.

P.S. ShopGirl is now a proper blog! Find our fashionable updates through your social media of choice. Happy reading, happy shopping!

Best of Sale

A special dress: It’s occasion season. Graduations, weddings, parties, parties, parties. Ugh. One can become overwhelmed, unless you have that one special dress that goes everywhere. A multi-tasker, she has to be special enough to please co-workers, in-laws, boyfriends, even ex-boyfriends. No one has to know you got her on sale.

Whimsical necklace: Alber Elbaz dreams up the most whimsical fairy tale pieces for Lanvin. Investing in exaggerated fashion jewelry is a great way to add a playful element to any pretty dress, as well as kick up your casual summer basics.

A Pierre Hardy bag: I love how Pierre Hardy bags are still flying under the It-bag radar. The messenger strap makes it user friendly, a plus when it’s blazing hot and you don’t want to be fussing with anything. But mostly I’m just a sucker for cobalt blue ostrich leather.

Evening Oxfords: Introducing the Evening Oxford. I know, bear with me though. There’s something so modern and surprisingly sexy about a cut out flat as opposed to heels for summer nights. They lend a cheeky schoolgirl appeal to any skirt or sundress.

Leather boxers: Leather is so unexpected and chic when worn in warmer months. With shorts just make sure they’re breezy– the stick factor! The length should be less Daisy Duke than urban appropriate. Pair with an airy top for contrast… and ventilation.

Frankenstein tee: I love this t-shirt! You’d think a giant Frankenstein graphic wouldn’t work, and yet in Christopher Kane‘s hands…monster magic. The genius of a fashion tee is this is your one extreme style statement, you’re allowed to tone it down everywhere else.
